Schyler Callaway, LMSW

It has been said that when you heal from trauma, you heal seven generations forward and seven generations back. With this in mind, one realizes that a society can only be as well as its women–especially those in the roles of mothers, grandmothers, aunts, fictive and blood related maternal figures alike. This notion alone fuels my passion for creating a sacred space in order to accompany women and mothers on their healing journeys. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse spectrum of clients of varying ages, ethnicities, and presenting problems, and in doing so, have come to appreciate that no matter the stage of life, the impact of the child-parent bond has far-reaching influences on who we become and how we navigate the world and life experiences.

As a native of the Atlanta area, I attended Spelman College where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and went on to attend the University of Georgia where I earned my Master’s in Social Work. I am currently licensed in the state of Georgia as an LMSW. Having completed advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health, I practice integrating this specialty with an eclectic mix of evidence based modalities, including Person Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy-in order to tailor treatment experiences to what best suits the needs and goals of the individual and family unit. I advocate for a holistic approach to wellness-addressing aspects of health across each domain including mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual, and it is my honor to do so working alongside those who are embarking upon their own journey of personal growth and healing.
